There are great considerations such as temperament, body structure, and hip qualifications. On average we spend $15,000 to $20,000 on one female prior to ever breeding her. These costs are for hip testing, behavioral and temperament testing, as well as many other costs. To breed for profit would cause a breeder to take many short cuts which will result in poor temperaments and health problems which will potentially cost the new owner tens of thousands of dollars.

As an estimate only the veterinarian we use cost, on average, $400-500 to crop the ears.

At seven weeks we will perform a temperament test. A temperament test will give us insight into the puppies' potentials. This will measure a dog's reaction or behavior to various elements presented to them. We take pride in our dogs and work very hard with them.

The Cane Corso is an energetic dog that requires exercise. A majority of behavioral problems can be attributed to lack of exercise resulting in boredom and destructive behavior. It is important to meet this breed’s needs of attention and exercise.

They tend to be very robust chewers and are known for having tough jaws. You will need to invest in plenty of things to chew for your dog while they are puppies and well into adulthood. You may be surprised how fast they are able to chew through toys that claim to be for super-chewing pups. They can have a lot of energy and would benefit from daily walks and/or trips to the dog park to get a chance to run and play. Dog parks are also great for training and socializing a dog to ensure that they maintain a good temperament while around other dogs. Even if your purpose is to have the dog for protection, you want them to know the difference between a threat to your family and a neutral or friendly presence.

As they are very intelligent dogs, they require mental stimulation as well. Because of this, we recommend continuous training with your dog in order to take advantage of this quality and to increase you and your family’s overall bond with them. Puzzle toys are a great method of allowing them to flex their brains. Puzzle toys teach them problem solving skills and can come in increasing difficulties to always keep their intellect appropriately piqued. Additionally, solving the puzzles is good for their overall confidence.

Cane Corso will eat up to 6-7 cups of food a day. The exact amount will depend on the size of your dog. Follow your vet recommendations for how much to feed your dog for their best health. We recommend feeding your dog a food known for having lots of vitamins that veterinarians recognize as important to your dogs health, such as vitamins A, B-complex (biotin, folate, niacin, pantothenic acid, riboflavin, thiamine, B-6, and B-12), C, D, E, and K as well as choline and rich in protein. Also, the FDA and most veterinarians highly advise against grain-free diets, so you will not need to worry about the grains in your dog's food , they need it!
