As an Operation Iraqi Freedom ARMY Veteran, dealing with PTSD and Anxiety made life seem impossible. Reintegrating into civilian life from a 18-month tour in Iraq was very difficult. I decided to get a puppy to help with the process. From the first time I held my new Cane Corso puppy I felt something......HOPE!!! I created Guardia Del Corpo (Italian for body guard) in May of 2020 to help give the feeling of hope I experienced back to others in need. Dogs are able to read humans emotions, serve as a companion, and help relieve stress. I have been breeding and training dogs for over 15 years and strive to breed the best Cane Corso's the breed has to offer. To do this we focus on health testing on hips, elbows, heart, and DNA traits to ensure puppies don't get negative hereditary traits passed down to them. We also focus on temperament with our Cane Corso's. Cane Corso's bred in the wrong hands can cause significant behavioral problems. We aim to avoid these characteristics by not cutting corners, proper health screening, proper diet, and working hand and hand with our veterinarian.
The ICCF Registry is the oldest Cane Corso registry in the world and the most complete stud book in the United States, recognizing hundreds of Cane Corsi as having obtained Grand Championships, Championships, or working titles. When Cane Corsi were first recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 2010, AKC relied heavily upon the ICCF registry to verify blood lines when accepting dogs into their enrollment. All our dogs have 32 generations of bloodlines. This is proof of the purity and strict adherence to preserving our Cane Corsi.
The Cane Corso lineage stretches all the way back to ancient Roman times. When bred correctly they are the perfect dog for protection of families with children. The Cane Corso has a fierce, imposing look, and air about them. They are a confident breed that will easily dissuade a potential intruder to think again before entering the homeowners property. Cane Corsi are natural guard dogs and will take to guarding their territory as soon as 8-9 months of age. They can grow to weigh as much as 150 lbs in some cases.
